How a winery in any country can run vineyard work, harvest, cellar, bottling, lot traceability and declarations in one Odoo database, and which add-ons cover cooperatives, sparkling wine, the cellar door and the wine club.
- The parcel is the base unit: every grape, wine lot and bottle is traced back to it.
- A weighing at the weighbridge feeds the tank, the blend, the cost per bottle and the declarations.
- Units and declarations are configurable for any country; French customs files are an optional localisation.
A winery keeps its records in more places than most businesses. Vineyard work is in a notebook, harvest weights are on weighbridge tickets, fermentation readings are on a clipboard in the cellar, blends are in the winemaker's spreadsheet and the bottling run is in another. When a customer reports a faulty bottle, or the excise return is due, someone has to put all of it back together by hand.
Odoo already has inventory, sales, employees, maintenance and accounting. What it does not have is the wine itself: parcels, vintages, tanks, blends and the chain from a vine row to a bottle. The Wine & Vineyard ERP family adds that, for wineries in any country.
One record from the vineyard to the customer
The parcel is the base unit. Each one holds its variety, planting year, spacing, soil, exposure, map coordinates and intended designation, and every grape, wine lot and bottle is traced back to it. Designation rules you configure (authorised varieties, maximum yield, vine density, vine age) are checked on the parcel and again at the weighbridge.
- Vineyard work orders for pruning, canopy work, mowing, tillage and treatments, with workers, equipment and cost per parcel. Treatments check doses, organic status and the pre-harvest interval.
- Weather observations and forecasts from Open-Meteo per weather station, with frost, heat, heavy rain and disease alerts on thresholds you set.
- Maturity samples with sugar, acidity, pH and berry weight; an approved sample becomes a harvest order.

Harvest at the weighbridge
Each load is weighed with gross, tare and net weight, grape condition, sugar and temperature. A partial rejection goes to a quarantine lot, and the yield of the parcel is checked against its designation. From here, the weighing feeds the tank, the blend, the cost of each bottle and the declarations, so nobody types it again.

In the cellar: fermentation, vessels and blends
- Winemaking orders consume the grape lots, follow a process route and fill the destination tank, with pomace, lees and losses balanced.
- Fermentations record density, temperature, sugar and alcohol, entered by the team, sent by sensors or by the lab through a REST API. Out-of-range readings alert the oenologist.
- Tanks, vats and barrels show their lot, volume and fill level; transfers, racking and topping-up keep volumes and losses right.
- A blend lists its source lots and percentages, checks they add up to 100% and respects the vintage rule, then creates a new lot with its full composition.
Bottling, cost per bottle and recalls
A bottling order checks the packaging materials, records accepted and rejected bottles and the quality checks, and releases a finished stock lot with its cost per bottle. Vineyard work, harvest, winemaking, barrels and packaging add up per parcel, vintage and wine.
Every lot shows its origin parcels, composition, cost and the deliveries that shipped it. A recall blocks the remaining stock downstream and lists the customers who received it.

Declarations and units for any country
Harvest, stock and monthly excise declarations are computed from your records, reviewed, approved, exported and kept with the official receipt and a SHA-256 hash of the file. Corrections keep the history, and an excise stamp and capsule ledger is included. You file on your authority's portal; localisation modules add the official file formats of a country.
Units are a setting: hectares or acres, hectolitres, litres or US gallons, tonnes, kilograms or pounds, and sugar in °Brix, °Baumé or °Oechsle. Fields that only apply in some regions can stay empty.
French wineries can add the optional French customs localisation: VENDANGES harvest declaration, STOCK, the CIEL monthly excise return with capsule accounts and GAMMA2 document drafts. A separate GAMMA2 API connector sends excise documents and needs your own customs API account. Wineries elsewhere do not need either module.
Add-ons for the way you sell and produce
Start with the ERP and add the rest when you need it. Each add-on is a separate app:
- Wine Cost Accounting: finished bottles valued at their production cost, bulk wine in progress valued and posted with automatic reversal, vendor bill lines allocated to estate, parcel, vintage and lot.
- Wine Cooperative & Grape Purchases: members and their parcels, grape and must deliveries at the weighbridge, quality price grids, advances and final settlement with member bills and statements, grape purchase contracts.
- Sparkling Wine Production: tirage orders, bottles on lees traced to the parcels, pressure checks, minimum lees ageing, riddling racks and gyropalettes, disgorgement and dosage with the sugar calculation.
- Wine Tourism & Cellar Door: tastings, cellar visits, vineyard tours and workshops with time slots, capacity and guides; bookings create the sale order and invoice.
- Wine Club Management: membership tiers, member preferences, pause and skip, and shipments allocated from finished stock (held or recalled lots excluded) into draft sale orders.
- Vineyard Leases: cash-rent leases with indexed yearly rent and vendor bills, share-crop leases with the landowner's share, notice and renewal reminders.
- Winery Sustainability: water, energy and fuel meters, treatment frequency index and copper per parcel, by-products and their destination, certification audits with evidence.
- Vineyard Field App: a phone screen for vineyard teams with work orders, time, treatments, inspections, maturity samples and photos, with an offline queue.
- Wine & Vineyard Backend Theme: the family look in light and dark mode, and a vineyard background on the Enterprise home menu.

Try it on a live demo
The demo is a fictional estate, Hillcrest Vineyards & Winery, with the whole family installed on Odoo 20 Enterprise and a full season of data: parcels, field work, weather, harvest and weighbridge, fermentation curves, tanks and barrels, blends, bottling, lots, sales, cooperative deliveries, leases, sparkling batches, sustainability meters, tourism bookings, club shipments and the field app. It opens without a login as the cellar manager at wine-demo.viyuginfotech.com/try-demo.
The ERP runs on Odoo 16 to 20, Community and Enterprise; each add-on's store page lists its versions. If you want help with the setup, importing your parcels and lots, or a localisation for your country, tell us what you run today.

Frequently asked questions
Is it only for French wineries?
No. Vineyard, harvest, cellar, bottling, traceability, costing and the declaration engine work in any country, with configurable units. The French customs localisation is a separate, optional module.
Does it send declarations to the authorities?
It prepares, reviews and exports them and keeps the file with its hash and the official receipt. You file on the official portal; a certified connector can be added where an authority offers one, such as the GAMMA2 connector for French excise documents.
Can sensors and the lab send data?
Yes. A REST API with Odoo API keys accepts fermentation measurements, weighbridge tickets and lab results, and CSV import covers devices without an API.
Can I try it before buying?
Yes. The live demo opens without a login as the cellar manager of a demo estate with the whole family installed on Odoo 20 Enterprise.
